Nice, soothing, hot baths. BB is starting to get more stubborn and smart. When we went to put her to bed last night, she pushed her bottle away repeatedly and stood up in her crib. Why? Because she prefers being held before she sleeps. Or she would rather sleep in our bed between Dave and me. I didn't like this behavior, so all this wasn't going to happen on my watch. I left her in bed without the lights on, figuring she would cry it out in about 10-15 minutes. She lasted a whole hour, and most of the time she was screaming at the top of her lungs. It was stressful and exhausting to sit in the next room and listen to all of this. I barely got any work done.She eventually fell asleep and I immediately drew a bath -- WITH bubbles, no lights, extra candles, A-L-O-N-E! I can't remember the last time I took a bath, but I should definitely do it more often. It was pure and simple ME time, which hardly ever happens, so it was gloooorious and so relaxing!
Anyway, all the trouble paid off because she is starting to get the picture. She resisted when I put her in bed, but this time she barely cried for 10 minutes. YES! What a smart baby!
P.S. I wish my bathroom looked like this.
